My husband and I first took a serious interest in traditional wooden toys after our farewell trip, of being a married couple with no children. Our destination was Prague, the weather was cold (the snow caught us out) and Sophi's nursery was in its early days of preparation. The majority of tourists were bringing back designer goods at east European prices, not us, our luggage was packed tightly with wooden this and wooden that. Wooden toys that we had always seen before, but never until now did we have the excuse to buy. |
| That weekend in Prague planted the seed for Wooden T.O.T.S. Which has quickly developed, combining those colourful old-fashioned market stalls and their traditional toys, with the modern technology that is the Internet. We pride ourselves on keeping all the personal touches of a stall. |
| Most calls will be dealt with, either by myself (Tracey) or my husband Ralph, and no doubt our daughters, as they quickly grow tall enough to reach the phone. And learn to talk in the case of Mya (the youngest). We check the quality of the goods before we pack and post them. Our family business is exactly that. |
| We don't aim to change the way toys are sold on the net, just to change the prices at which they are sold for. We have noticed that one of the main barriers in getting customers to enter our high street shop is for them to realise that our prices are not any where near as expensive as they may think for quality wooden toys. So long as we can cope with all the elements of running a shop as well as a web shop without affecting the high service that we would expect as customers ourselves, then you will be able to benefit from buying quality toys at our very competitive prices. (Should we have to employ someone to help us then you can be sure that we let you know, our good friend Lisa helps us out when we need to have quality time with our daughters, I know she fits the bill, as my customers have informed me that “she is a lovely lady with a nice smile”) If you have already looked at other web sites or shops for price comparisons, then we are confident you need look no further, If you have just started your search for that quality wooden toy, then we have just saved you a lot of time (and in our opinion, money). |

| We want our customers to appreciate the tradition that is wooden toys, without having to pay over the odds (or even, the odds). Don't tell everyone how good we are…else we may have to employ a work force, should this happen then we will make sure this does not affect our service and hopefully nor our prices. |
